Matthew 1:1-17

The other day I found this book in the garbage. It looked too good to throw out, had a big fancy binding with gold lettering, so I fished it out and started reading it.

It's called "Matthew", but it doesn't say who that is. It starts out talking about some guy by the name of Jesus Christ instead, and tells who all his ancestors were for two whole pages, but it never does tell who the hell this Matthew guy is.

Maybe it'll get better.

Oh, and does that geneology have some twisted apollogetics connected with it. Seems that there is also a geneology of Jesus in another Gospel and the two do not mesh at all. Of course, <sarcasm> since the Bible is completely without any contradictions </sarcasm>, the True Believers™ must find some way that these two geneologies make some kind of sense. That's about all I'm going to say to avoid spoilers.

Now, there is one problem here. The Geneology traces Jesus' ancestry though Joseph. Who was Jesus' father, again? I forget.

OOOhhhh, good catch. It just says "through the holy spirit" whatever that means. But it's clear it wasn't Joseph.
