Koran vs Bible

Category, Individual Verses

Koran
(9:5:) slay the idolaters wherever you find them,

Bible

Thou must not allow a single living thing to survive. (Duet. 20:16)

The koran only kills off all the idolaters, so the non-idolators still have a chance, but the bible kills everybody, so the prize for Worst Individual Verse goes to....... (drumdrumdrum) ......

The BIBLE

YAAAAAYYY ... the crowd goes wild ....

Is the koran not the Idol of Islam ?

Hmm, could be. Or could be that meteorite in Mecca that they all bow down to five times a day, and travel halfway around the world to go see.

If you take verses out of context, you can make them say whatever you want. But in context, God WAS talking about a specific people group (or city in this case); and among that people group that was against God and wicked God said "kill every living thing." He was was referring to that group.

The nations he lists in the very next verse were nations that burn their children in the fire, human sacrifices, sexual immorality, etc. If you read the rest of the Bible you would know that God never told the Israelittes to kill everybody else in the world; in fact in that same chapter for other people groups they wer at war with He said to only wipe out the men, but to spare the women and children- and this ONLY if they would not make peace.

Also, this is the Old Testament you're quoting from. They were under a different covenant, when Jesus came He fulfilled the old one and so we're not under their laws. The New Testament says "Do not kill", even those who do not agree with you. The Koran does not make this disctinction; it simply says "Kill all infidels".

My point? Don't make a claim about what the Bible or Koran teaches by taking one sentence out of context.

No, only the nations listen are to be destroyed. If u read the Bible they were really bad nations. If you're not one of those specific people named who totally defied God (like it says earlier in the Bible) you're safe. Read the next verse please:

"However, in the cities of the nations the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes. 17 Completely destroy [a] them—the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—as the LORD your God has commanded you. 18 Otherwise, they will teach you to follow all the detestable things they do in worshiping their gods, and you will sin against the LORD your God."

Surely emphasising one line out of context is what makes all these differing cults out of the same message. That and differing interpretations of the message by manipulitive people .These are what causes gullible fools to blow themselves and innocents up, starve or beat their children to death and a seemingly never ending list of atroicities commited against members of the human race.
As for reading the next verse try reading the whole book these so called "bad nations" only sins were living where the hebrews thought they should live. Try reading the bible or the koran and using your mind rather than just asking what you should think about what was written.
